Shellfish Harvesting Georgia Temporarily Closed Due to Hurricane Ian

Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida on Wednesday afternoon as a category 4 storm, bringing with it 150 mph winds. As the storm advances, it’s expected to hit the Georgia and South Carolina area, where forecasters say it will make a second landfall on Friday afternoon.

The southern states are facing threats of coastal flooding due to the storm surge, as well as inland flooding due to torrential rains.
