Agreement on TAC for 3Ps Cod Fishery Reached Between Canada and France

Canada and France have reached an agreement regarding 3Ps for the 2022-2023 fishing season.

According to Joyce Murray, the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, fishermen in Newfoundland and Labrador will be happy to learn that both countries intend to roll over the current total allowable catch (TAC) of 1,346 tonnes.

“I know how important cod is to fishers who depend on it, and all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians,” said Murray. “It is encouraging to see the stock showing signs of modest growth...
